Wrap Up

Well - I finally made it! I did enjoy some of these activities - especially learning how to create a blog, learning about RSS feeds, and Flickr. I think that these exercises required quite a LOT of time - so much time, that we were actually SCHEDULED for L&P time off-desk in the hope that we could all complete the 23 Things. I would suggest that if we do something similar again, allow staff to CHOOSE several activities instead of working through all of them. Obviously, some people spent a great deal of time setting all this up for the CML staff, and to those of you who invested all that time, THANK YOU. This did provide avenues to briefly explore activities about which I had heard, but knew nothing. The little instructional videos along the way were quite well done - just enough info, but not too much.

MOLDI

Yeah, I browsed, but I am not interested in listening to audio books at this time in my life - I would much rather READ them. Maybe later . . . By the way, MOLDI is not easyt o find on our homepage - I think we need an icon or acronym in the audio book download window for those of us who are looking for something specific.

Podcasts

I just added "Betty in the Sky with Suitcase" to my Bloglines RSS feeds. Yeah! I might use this option . . .

YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII
I explored YouTube, briefly, and watched Miss Teen USA 2007 from South Caroline TRY to answer a questions - Mama Mia!

Awards

I explored "I'm Cooked" - lots of options and easy to use. (This is #18 - sorry, I'm slightly out of order here).

Tooling Around

Explored the Tool Box and read Tooling Around. I liked "StumbleUpon" - that's fun.

Web-based apps

OK - I went on Google Docs. That's actually something that I think would be quite useful and easy to use. I like it.

Wiki blog

I posted a blog on Learn&Play Favorite blogs, but I'm not sure it worked. We'll see.
Did the Wiki exploration - interesting, but I don't see myself doing this on a regular basis. Fun to read entries, and got some good book ideas.

Library 2.0 & Web 2.0 Thoughts

Clealy all library employees will be affected by the enormous potential of web offerings that have become available. Learn & Play has made me so much more aware of the many options that exist. We need to be able to have time in our work days to explore these options so that we can be up to date, and serve our customers well.

Tagging/Delicious

Checked out Delicious info. Tried to do the tutorial but it would not open on my computer, so did the other activities. Potentially good tool, especially for reader's Advisory lists.

Twitter

I twittered today and posted 1 tweet.

Library Thing

Did it! Added 5 titles - fun.

Generator stuff

http://www.generatorland.com/generators/twitter-status-generator_gl.php - here's one of the Generator sites that I liked - have fun.

Added RSS feeds

I have added some library-friendly feeds to my bloglines list. Along the way I explored several links from the "23 Things" suggestions.

Bloglines

Yeah! I just created my bloglines account and added 10 various newsfeeds. The easiest way for me to add them was to use the long list provided by Bloglines - very fast.

I am interested in the Montagr but I am still unsure how to go about doing it - will have to do more reading.

7 1/2 steps

I have 2 hard steps - goal-setting and viewing obstacles as crises. My easiest one is accepting responsibility for my own learning.

First Day!

This is a trial first-posting. I have just set up my first-ever blog! Will I really use this, I wonder?
